About me
Hey, my name is Tobias Büttel. I’m a 31-year-old nature photographer based in Germany. I grew up in a small town in central Germany, where I spent much of my childhood outdoors. Even as a child, I was drawn to capturing the natural world, using a disposable camera to photograph flowers and insects in my parents’ garden.
During the pandemic, I fully immersed myself in nature photography. From vast landscapes to intricate details and wildlife, I continue to be fascinated by the diversity and complexity of nature. After moving to Munich for my studies, the Alps quickly became my main playground and a constant source of inspiration.
I specialise in nature and conservation photography. Through my work, I aim not only to highlight the beauty of the natural world but also to document its fragility and the threats it faces, encouraging others to care for and protect it.
In 2025, I founded the non-profit organisation Wild Environments, dedicated to combating biodiversity loss and climate change through direct action, while also building a community of people committed to making a meaningful difference.
